tenure-track position in the University Library System.
Emerging Services Librarian Queen Elizabeth II Library
The Queen Elizabeth II Library is seeking an energetic, outgoing
individual with a commitment to academic librarianship and the
flexibility to enjoy a changing environment of practice. The
successful candidate will have an ALA accredited graduate degree,
the ability to communicate effectively, demonstrated or potential
competency in librarianship, a strong service philosophy, and a
post-secondary degree/diploma in computer science or information
technology. Minimum three years experience in an academic
library systems setting and experience with Perl, Oracle, and web
services are required.
The position reports to the Assistant to the University Librarian
for Systems and Planning and serves as head of the Queen
Elizabeth II Library Systems Office. The position involves
project management, requirements specification for emerging
services, liaison with library/campus committees and
administration of the Sirsi Unicorn integrated library system.
He/she is responsible for managing eight support staff, preparing
budgets and planning for the division. The person occupying this
position may be required to work evenings and weekends to deal
with software/hardware upgrades and any emergencies which may

division manages the Unicorn ILS, the Relais ILL/DD system for
the CAUL libraries, the library web site, the production of local
databases, and other servers providing a variety of user

An appointment at the rank of Librarian II or III is anticipated.
Based on experience and qualifications, salary floors are $43,543
and $49,419 respectively.
In addition, this position carries an administrative stipend.
