Leave Replacement Position (Pending Approval)
July 21, 2003 – July 20, 2004

Saint Mary’s University – Patrick Power Library seeks an Information
Literacy Librarian to fill a one-year leave replacement position.  The
successful applicant will report to the University Librarian, within a
collegial working environment.  The candidate will be responsible for
providing instruction in information literacy to the University
community through classroom teaching, workbook assignments, and the
preparation of instructional materials.  Additional responsibilities
will include reference service and collection development liaison.

The successful candidate must possess a Master’s degree from an
accredited library school.  Also required are a working knowledge of
computer and Web-based applications in reference and information
literacy, demonstrated teaching skills, and strong communication and
interpersonal skills.  The position requires desktop publishing and
Web-authoring abilities.  The successful candidate will demonstrate a
commitment to work cooperatively to provide quality service.

Appointment will be at the rank of Librarian I.
