DUTIES
Under the direction of the Manager, Information Resources, the Librarian II/Information Services Specialist is responsible for providing a wide range of information services to Departmental staff in Halifax, twenty regional offices, and to external clients. The Librarian will provide leadership in evaluating the present collections and planning for the development of future services. This includes managing the electronic products and resources presently in the library, designing and developing on-line library databases and publishing information on the web. In addition, the Librarian will participate in delivering, expanding and promoting information services.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree plus post-graduate degree in Library Science plus 2 years professional library experience. The incumbent will have experience using a variety of electronic products including but not limited to office applications such as: Windows, GroupWise, WordPerfect, and specialized research tools such as InMagic/DBText, Quicklaw, eCarswell/LawSource and other Internet applications. S/he will be required to work on database evaluation and development using InMagic/DBText. The successful candidate will be a results oriented individual with strong communication and leadership skills. Demonstrated experience in project management is essential. Supervisory experience is an asset. Travelling may be required.
