UCCB invites applications for a full-time continuing Reference Librarian
position to commence June 2, 2003.
Reporting to the Director of Library Services, the successful candidate will
have collection responsibilities for the arts and social sciences and will
serve as the Library's liaison for those disciplines. The Librarian will
also provide general reference and instructional services to students,
faculty, staff and the general public.
Specifically, the successful candidate will participate in all aspects of
general reference services, including instructional services; electronic
reference services and regular reference desk schedule including one evening
shift per week and one Saturday shift per month; have collection
responsibilities; and other related duties as required.
Candidates must have a MLS from an ALA-accredited program; post secondary
specialization in the Arts or Social Sciences; excellent oral and written
communication skills, knowledge of print and electronic information
resources; ability to create and maintain web pages; and excellent
interpersonal skills. Experience working in reference and user instruction
experience will be considered assets.
The union affiliation of this position is with the UCCB Faculty Association
of University Teachers (FAUT).
