Laura, and the rest
your mails are very timely and right.
Indeed private initiatives are needed and many things can be changed
without much of a budget like making webpages W3c (www.w3c.org) compliant.
And private initiatives are needed as the courts in the USA seem to give
the opposite signal by saying that the right to accessible internet
material is not covered under the ADA (American with Disability Act) as
the internet can't be viewed as a 'public place'.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Bioethics/message/5921
is a link to a message on the bioethics and disability network listserve
also giving some hints but
at least internetwise W3C gives a lot of help.
And as more and more info is web based this area is very important. I
haven't counted them but very few webpages as they relate to bioethics are
W3C compliant
A good sofware to work with is Macromedia Dreamweaver MX or Studio MX
Cheers
Gregor
