The APLA executive is giving notice of the following motion
to be presented at the 63rd OGM, under the report of the
Committee on Committees and Interest Groups.

MOTION: to establish a new Interest Group, called the
Government Information Interest Group with the following
Terms of Reference.

Name: Government Information Interest Group

Status: Interest Group

Purpose:

To provide a forum for the discussion of issues among
members interested in Government Information.

Goals:

To establish and maintain communicatioins between Government
Information Interest Group members.

To help members in organizing workshops or other activities.

To participate in the organization of workshops at the APLA
Annual Conference.

Terms of Reference:

1. As a primary objective, to promote communications among
members and to make the interest group visible to members of
the Association.

2. Responsible for at least one article a year in the APLA
Bulletin

3. Organize a session at each APLA annual conference to
increase the visibility of the interest group and
communication amongst APLA members.

Relationships:

The Interest Group will inform the association of its
activities via APLA Bulletin submissions.

Membership: membership is open to all APLA members

Reports: A written report on the year's activity will be
presented to the general membership at the ordinary general
meeting of APLA. A copy of this report will be submitted to
the APLA Bulletin.
