" POLICE RETURN SEIZED BOOKS TO
LIBRARY!"
For an update on the Christmas Day police raid of the Emmanuel Library in
Camaguey Province, Cuba, please refer to the Latebreaking News section of the
Friends of Cuban Libraries website (WWW.FRIENDSOFCUBANLIBRARIES.ORG).
We in the Friends would like to thank everyone who responded to our
earlier worldwide appeal by sending protests to the Cuban government.
Although it is our policy never to claim credit for favorable developments,
it is possible that your messages influenced the government's decision to
return the confiscated books to Pastor Lazaro Iglesias, the director of the
Emmanuel Library.
You are also invited to log onto our website for other latebreaking
reports to be published in the near future. Coming soon: "FRENCH GOVERNMENT
YIELDS TO HAVANA BOOK FAIR PROTEST" and "LIBRARIANS CENSOR OTHER LIBRARIANS
FOR PROTESTING CENSORSHIP." And please bookmark our website for easier
access.
Sincerely,
Friends of Cuban Libaries
