Vicki Whitmell has left the Canadian Library Association to seek new challenges in the Library and Information community, effective March 20, 2002. She has made a number of significant contributions to the association during her time with us, and we wish her well in future endeavours.

Longtime CLA member, Gwynneth Evans, has agreed to take on the management of current CLA projects while the Executive Council undertakes a search for a new Executive Director. This will allow us to maintain our current momentum in the areas of advocacy, conference planning and the issues that will be raised at the AGM in Halifax.

President Margaret Law, and Vice-President Wendy Newman met with the full staff today. They are enthusiastic about the directions of the association, and continue to be committed to providing the best possible service to the membership. The Council has full confidence in Gwynneth and the staff to carry out its agenda.
