Information Literacy Librarian

The University of Windsor's Leddy Library invites applications for a
tenure-track Information Literacy Librarian position, commencing January
1st, 2002.   Rank will be commensurate with experience.  This position is
subject to final budgetary approval.

We seek an innovative, dynamic professional with key leadership skills to
lead in the development of an overarching Information Literacy programme,
to develop and provide effective web-based library user education
programmes and to liaise with other campus groups and the campus community
in developing and implementing such programmes.  For further details about

Responsibilities will include promoting information literacy and library
support for a learner-focused environment; conducting workshops and
lectures; providing pedagogical support for the delivery of library
instruction and the effective use of instructional technology; overseeing
the promotion of all information literacy outreach to the university
community and development of library policies that support information
literacy.

The successful candidate will possess the initiative, creativity, and
excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
necessary to develop, promote, and deliver effective library programs to
both onsite and remote users.

Reporting to the Head, Reference Services, the successful candidate will be
joining a dynamic team and will be expected to contribute to the overall
planning and management of library services, as well as to
provincial/national consortia activities.

A Master's degree in Library or Information Science from an ALA accredited
school, or equivalent qualifications, plus demonstrated skill in the use of
web authoring tools and presentation software is required. The ideal
candidate will have experience evaluating and using electronic resources
and an in depth knowledge of technological applications and automation in
academic libraries.  Preferred candidates will have teaching experience and
knowledge of various instructional and educational technologies that are
currently in use by post-secondary educational institutions across North
America.
