The School of Library and Information Studies, the Nova Scotia Provincial
Library, and the Dalhousie University Libraries have invited Dr. Charles
(Chuck) R. McClure to Halifax to give a public lecture and a half-day
workshop in September. The schedule for these events is as follows:

Public Lecture: "Key Issues in the Transition to the Networked
Environment"

Workshop: "Developing Statistics and Performance Measures for the
Networked Environment"

Dr. Chuck McClure is the Francis Eppes Professor of Information Studies
and the Director of the Information Use Management and Policy Institute at
the School of Information Studies, Florida State University, Tallahassee,
Florida. He is well-known throughout North America as an outstanding
speaker and workshop instructor. Further details about Dr. McClure can be

The lecture will be open to the public at no charge. Although registration
for the workshop will be required, it is anticipated that there will be no
registration fee. NOTE: details concerning registration will be announced
in future notices, which will be posted to a variety of electronic lists,
and will also be available on the School of Library and Information
Studies website: www.mgmt.dal.ca/slis
