It is almost here.....APLA 2001 in Charlottetown begins next
Thursday, May 31st. The weather is almost spring-like, there was a
picture of Annie of Green Gables (no, she is not REAL, it was one of
the many actresses that don those damn pig-tails all summer) in the
newspaper today, the lupines are emerging to once again take over the
Island ditches, the warblers are arriving (birds that is, not the
summer migrants that form the Charlottetown Summer Festival), and
conference fever is in the air!
During your visit you are all welcome to join the conference
committee members on our daily 5am 5 mile warm-up run (longer runs
on the weekends). Yes, it really gets those conference planning and
organizing, stuffing name tags into plastic holders juices flowing.
Okay, okay...slight exaggeration about how we warm up to talk and do
conference every day. What flows is more likely many extra-strength
double-doubles down our gullets and I hear some committee members
have worked out a deal that they have the stuff injected
intravenously while charging through one of the 623 "coffee"
drive-throughs around town.
On a much more serious conference note: If you have registered and
have "NOT" received an email confirmation from the Registrar Dawn
Hooper, please contact her immediately. [log in to unmask]
