New Brunswick Public Library Service is searching for a dynamic individual
to research, develop and implement a training program aimed at improving
reference service in public libraries in New Brunswick.  The successful
candidate will be either a recent graduate of, or a student currently
attending, a Masters of Library and Information Science program.

Le Service des bibliothèques publiques du Nouveau-Brunswick est à la
recherche d'une personne dynamique pour élaborer et mettre en oeuvre un
programme de formation avancée en référence pour l le personnel des
bibliothèques publiques de la province. La personne choisie doit avoir
obtenue récemment une maîtrise en bibliothéconomie et sciences de
l'information ou être actuellement inscrite à un programme de maîtrise en
bibliothéconomie et sciences de l'information.

The Reference Training Project is intended to draw on the ability of library
school students and graduates to bring knowledge of the changing reference
environment to the staff of the public library system in New Brunswick.
This would include an update on the major tools appropriate to public
library reference service including both print and electronic media, as well
as the Internet.

Dans le cadre de ce projet de formation avancée en référence, nous désirons
offrir à un(e) jeune diplômé(e) ou à un(e) étudiant(e) en bibliothéconomie
et sciences de l'information l'occasion de partager son expertise et ses
connaissances afin d'aider le personnel des bibliothèques publiques du
Nouveau-Brunswick à mettre à jour leurs compétences en référence dans ce
nouveau monde de l'information. La formation devrait inclure les principaux
outils de référence électroniques et imprimés, ainsi que l'Internet.

Some travel within the province will be required

La personne choisie pourrait devoir voyager dans la province.

Required Qualifications:
*       Experience /education in web use.
*       Experience / education in reference service including major
electronic resources such as Ebsco Host, Repère, Electric Library Canada,
Virtual News Library, etc;
*       Functional fluency in English and French;
*       Excellent oral and written communications skills;
*       Highly motivated and able to work independently; and
*       In depth knowledge of the principles of reference service

Qualités requises:
*      connaissance approfondie de l'Internet et de la navigation sur le web

*       excellente connaissance des principes, des techniques et des outils
de référence, y compris les principaux outils électroniques tels que Ebsco
Host, Repère, Electric Library Canada, Biblio Branché, etc;
*       connaissance fonctionnelle du français et de l'anglais
*       excellente habiletés communicationnelles à l'oral et à l'écrit
*       grande motivation et autonomie
*       connaissance approfondie des principes de base d'un service de
référence


Rate:    $12.50 per hour

Salaire: 12,50 $ l'heure
