The Association of Professional Librarians of New Brunswick will be
holding its annual Spring Event in Edmundston on Saturday 7 April.
Fashioned around a theme of ?A Place for Words,? the meeting will
feature presentations by Sharon Munro and Françoise Enguehard. Sharon
Munro is a reference librarian at the University of Windsor and
currently the Researcher-in-residence at the School of Library and
Information Studies at Dalhousie University. Her presentation is
entitled ?Space ? the final frontier: Is the library without walls the
ultimate solution?? The writer and journalist, Françoise Enguehard,
is known for her radio commentaries. Born in St. Pierre and Miquelon
she is going to discuss the importance of books especially in isolated
environments and will also read an excerpt from her novel, Les
litanies de l'Île-aux-Chiens. There will also be an opportunity to
visit the one year-old Edmundston Public Library and discover its
amenities. The Association will be taking advantage of meeting in
Edmundston during the annual Salon du Livre 5 to 8 April there, which
participants will be interested in attending. For more information
