Agents, bots and intelligent dots: the technology behind electronic documents (Teleconference)
Halifax site sponsored by the Nova Scotia Provincial Library
**************************************************
As the digital library continues to develop, offering electronic full-text resources is becoming an integral part of library services. What is involved in creating these electronic texts and documents? Join us at the Nova Scotia Provincial Library, March 23, 2001, for a teleconference featuring D. Scott Brandt aka "Techman". Mr. Brandt will describe the technologies behind various kinds of electronic documents and texts, including such "techno-text-enhancements" as mark-up languages, meta-tags, controlled vocabulary, and meta-data, as well as technologies for managing information retrieval of text. Audience members will have the opportunity to pose questions to the "Techman" during question and answer sessions to be held prior to and following the session.
Details are as follows:
- Date: Friday, March 23, 2001, from 4pm to 6pm
- Place: Nova Scotia Provincial Library (Classroom), 3770 Kempt Road, Halifax
- Registration will be on a first come first serve basis, to a maximum of 50 people.
