EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY -  OUTREACH LIBRARIAN

        Eastern Counties Regional Library provides public library services to the
42,000+  residents of Inverness, Richmond and Guysborough counties of Nova
Scotia. The Library faces the challenge of providing library services to
many small rural communities over  a large geographic area. The Regional
Library includes seven branch libraries as well as outreach services.

        The Library is seeking a dynamic, client-focused individual to join its
management team of three librarians. The Outreach Librarian reports to the
Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for  directing, developing and
promoting current services and  implementing new outreach services.
Current outreach activities include : visiting library services, distance
access services, books by mail, homebound and school services. The Outreach
Librarian also works in conjunction with the other librarians on the
development of  library programs, fund-raising activities and other library
projects.

        A Masters degree from an accredited library school is required as well as
a public service orientation, good written and oral communication skills,
experience in a supervisory position and in an automated library
environment. A valid driver's license is needed as the position requires
extensive driving within the region. Knowledge of French is an asset.

Salary range: $29,288-$36,163 according to qualifications and experience.
