Function:
This position provides reference and related services to library
users, and assists reference librarians.
Representative Responsibilities:
Assist library patrons with library research.
Assist reference librarians.
Participate in bibliographic instruction and orientation,
including both one-on-one and group instruction.
Provide basic technical support for reference computer
workstations.
Maintain reference material and the university calendar
collection.
Perform other duties as determined by the library's
needs.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree and one year of experience in a library
educational setting (a certificate or undergraduate course(s) in
library science may substitute for a portion of the required library
experience) or an equivalent combination of training and
experience.
Demonstrated experience and skill in providing reference
services.
Must have excellent customer service, communication,
interpersonal, computer, keyboarding and organizational skills,
experience using the Internet, and the ability to prioritize and
perform multi-tasking duties. Must be familiar with Windows,
standard word processing and office applications. Must be able to
work independently with minimal supervision.
